Learn more about this condition and explore our recommended solutions.
What Is It?
Pressure sores (also called bedsores or pressure ulcers) develop when a part of the body is under constant pressure for too long — restricting blood flow to the skin. They're especially common in bedridden patients, wheelchair users, and elderly individuals. They can develop in as little as 2–3 hours and range from mild skin redness to deep, open wounds.
Who Is at Risk?
Bedridden patients after surgery or illness. Wheelchair and mobility aid users. Elderly individuals with limited mobility Patients with diabetes or circulatory problems Anyone with paralysis or reduced sensation
How LIVISH Helps
Our Progel cushions and mattresses distribute body weight across a far larger surface area, dramatically reducing the pressure concentration at any single point. This keeps blood flowing to vulnerable skin and prevents the tissue damage that leads to sores. For existing sores, gentle offloading products allow healing to occur without further pressure.
